Ruth E. Black Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Classified at HONOLULU CC and enrolled at least half-time status (6 credits).
  2. Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress policies.
  3. Demonstrated financial need as determined by an application for financial aid.
  4. Priority will be given to applicants whose parent(s) are or were employed in the Hawai'i construction industry. (Parent(s) formerly employed in the Hawai'i construction industry and now deceased or retired will also be considered.)

General Aid Fund

Criteria

  1. Must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credits) as undergraduates at Honolulu CC for 2012-13
  2. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.0
  3. Some degree of financial need, not as determined by Federal guidelines

Hawaii Veteran's Memorial Fund [Hawaii Residents Only]

Criteria

  1. Full-time undergraduate student (12 credits or more) enrolled within the University of Hawaiʻi system for 2012-13
  2. Hawaiʻi resident
  3. One letter of recommendation from a non-related individual
  4. Demonstrate financial need
  5. Have the following minimum academic record:
    • University freshmen & sophomores 2.5 cumulative GPA
    • University juniors & seniors 2.75 cumulative GPA
    • Community college students 2.0 cumulative GPA

EHW Broadbent Foundation Scholarship

Criteria

  1. Be enrolled at least part-time (6 credits) as an undergraduate at Honolulu CC for 2012-13
  2. Must be graduates of a Hawaiʻi High School enrolled in one of the following vocational programs at Honolulu CC: Automotive Technology, Carpentry Technology, Diesel Mechanic Technology, Welding Technology
  3. Academic merit as demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher in previous year of either high school or community college
  4. Some degree of financial need, not necessarily as determined by federal guidelines

Charles Hemenway Scholarship

Criteria

  1. High school GPA of 2.0
  2. Demonstrated good citizenship supported by letters of recommendation and the student's own written statement of community service
  3. Limited to students classified as resident (excludes nonresident, military-exempt, foreign-exempt, faculty exempt, and student exchange tuition status
  4. Satisfactory academic progress

Honolulu CC Recruitment (Non-Traditional) Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Classified at HONOLULU CC and enrolled at least half-time status (6 credits or more).
  2. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  3. Must be accepted and remain in eligible program.
  4. Priority will be given to female students in these majors: ABRP, AERO, AMT, APTR, AVIT, CARP, DISL, EIMT, FIRE, IED, RAC, SMP, VESL, and WELD.
  5. Priority will be given to male students in these majors: COSM, ECED, FT, and HSER.
  6. Must be program ready (meets all requirements to begin taking major coursework).
