Institutional Assessment

Mission Statement

To encourage, promote, and facilitate assessment activities on campus.

Goals

  • To help Honolulu Community College monitor and improve on its ability to meet the mission of answering the educational needs of students and the community.
  • To educate the campus on assessment strategies and outcomes so that institutional research activities are shared, improvements occur, and reflective practice becomes part of campus culture.
  • To marshal and distribute support for assessment activities.
  • To disseminate assessment models and outcomes.
  • To model effective assessment practice through the work of individuals, teams, committees, and academic units.
  • To help the campus meet its accreditation mandate to integrate an ongoing cycle of assessment and improvement of programs/services into all aspects of campus functioning.
