| HOW TO CHANGE A GRADE |
| There is a Change of Grade Form that can be obtained from the
Records Office. The directions provided are self-explanatory. Give a
concise, descriptive explanation for the grade change. If you stick
closely to the guidelines in your syllabus and grading scheme, it is
very unusual to need to submit a grade change.
When giving an "incomplete" ("I") grade, you should at the same time give the letter grade that the student would receive if the incomplete coursework is not completed. If you record an "I/C," for example, the "I" grade will automatically change to a "C" grade at the makeup deadline. Most students who plan to complete coursework before the deadline for changing "I" grades do not do follow through. You therefore only need to change the grades of the students who do complete their work, which is generally few. |
