Composition

  • Five (5) faculty members selected from the entire faculty

Purpose

The Faculty Exchange/Sabbatical Leave Committee provides information on exchanges and sabbaticals and reviews applications for and reports of sabbatical leaves.

Function

The Faculty Exchange/Sabbatical Leave Committee:

  • Advertises faculty and staff exchange possibilities and encourages exchange as a professional development option.
  • Helps coordinate pre-exchange activities and procedures, especially with regard to personnel papers and application forms sent from the corresponding college. This function of "exchange liaison" is usually assumed by the Chair of the Committee.
  • Reviews sabbatical leave applications and makes recommendations to the Chancellor.
  • Reviews sabbatical leave reports and makes recommendations to the Chancellor.

Workload

The workload depends on the number of applications received. The Committee meets when applications for sabbatical leave or faculty exchange are received.
