Mission Statement
We, the Senate of the Associated Students of Honolulu Community College, will actively represent the student voice and improve the quality of student life at Honolulu Community College.
ASUH-HCC is one of the most progressive student organizations in the state. Unlike traditional campus organizational structures, HCC’s student government supports the Campus Activities Board and a variety of student RISOs, organizations and groups.
ASUH-HCC is the governing organization of the student body. Elected and appointed representatives to this body participate in governance, serve as student representatives on college committees and provide a voice for the students in college decision making. ASUH-HCC is a member of the UH Student Caucus; a collective student governing body that represents the student body on issues of system-wide importance. The Student Caucus is recognized by the UH Board of Regents.
As part of their duties, ASUH-HCC is responsible for allocating the expenditure of Student Activity Fees. The allocated funds collected by Honolulu Community College on behalf of the students are allocated under the authority of ASUH-HCC and administered by Honolulu Community College’s fiscal operating system.
