Honolulu Community College Office of Continuing Education offers non-college credit courses in elementary and intermediate Japanese and Korean language. These courses are designed for individuals interested in learning basic language skills for conversation.

Courses are tailored for those interested in learning the language for fun, while others are helpful for business and travel purposes. Courses will continue to be added and we welcome your suggestions.

Placement test for Asian Languages and books are NOT required.

1. Mail-In

The mail-in option applies if you are paying with a check or purchase order. Fill out one registration from per student. For additional names attach a separate sheet. Include all required information for each name. Make check payable to University of Hawai'i and mail to:

If checks are dishonored by the banks, students will be assessed $15 (plus interest).

2. Walk-In Bldg 2, Rm 507

Cash and credit cards (MasterCard, VISA, Discover, Diners Club International, JCB, and Union Pay) accepted.

3. Online

You may also register online with a credit or debit card.

Transfers and Refund Policy

To transfer to another course or completely withdraw from a course, call the Continuing Education office (845-9296) two business days prior to the first day of class. Thereafter, refunds will not be allowed. Refunds can sometimes take 4 to 6 weeks to process. Charge Card refunds will be credited to your account.

Note: Students registering by purchase order will be billed regardless of non-attendance unless notification of withdrawal is made by the specified refund deadline.
