REGISTER NOW for the 7th annual 2024 First-Year Writing Symposium. The conference will take place March 30th, 2024 via Zoom. It is free to register and attend. Seize the opportunity to connect with other writing faculty, tutors, librarians, and student support services folks from all across the islands!

This year’s conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. HST on Saturday, March 30th. The conference will feature teaching and pedagogy talks and panels that will address a variety of topics addressing the central theme, Regeneration: The power and possibility of community in first-year writing.

The conference will also feature a keynote address from Maui educator, Marnie Masuda-Cleveland, the current executive director for The Creative Core, an organization that works with administrators and teacher leaders across the country to develop customized school improvement plans. Her talk will address what it means to be a first-year writer.
