HCC FACULTY FORUM

Through the ideas and initiation of Bed Paudyal, Instructor, Language Arts, and with the assistance of Brenda Kwon, Assistant Professor, Language Arts, and the Faculty Development Committee, the Honolulu Community College Faculty Forum was launched during the Fall 2013 semester. The Forum was offered as a pilot with selected faculty participants during the Fall 2013 semester and open to all faculty and lecturers starting the Spring 2014 semester.

The Forum allows members to participate in discussions both online and face-to-face. A volunteer moderator selects a reading for the members and moderates the discussions submitted. Each discussion period will last approximately one month after which a new moderator will choose a new reading. A site for the Forum has been created on Laulima. Laulima tools are used to run online conversations, to upload the readings, and to email participants. Participants will meet once a month for face-to-face discussions.
