The Student Media Board (SMB) supports all student media activities through the allocation of the Student Media Fee. SMB is responsible for the media on Ka Lā News, Ka Lā Podcast, Art & Soul, and HCC campus digital signs. SMB strives to constantly build and improve its media by weighing the needs of the student body.
SMB is seeking members to serve on the media and publication board. Becoming a part of SMB is a great way to get involved on campus and an excellent opportunity to boost your resume while gaining organizational and leadership management skills in human resources, budgeting, strategic planning, policy development, education and training, and more.
Positions are open to any student enrolled at Honolulu Community College with a cumulative 2.0 GPA and at least 6 credits per semester. The average required time commitment is estimated at about 10 to 20 hours each week.
