Transcripts
Official transcripts can be sent electronically (recommended), postal mail, or Electronic Transcript Exchange.
Honolulu Community College may not furnish transcripts to students who have unpaid financial obligations. Exceptions will be made in compliance with the U.S. Department of Education’s 34 CRF Part 668 Student Assistance General Provisions effective July 1, 2024.
Transcript Evaluation
For any previous coursework to be evaluated for transfer to HonCC, the student’s Home Institution must be HonCC and must be in a degree program. The Records Office will forward official transcripts to the appropriate program counselor for evaluation.
- Courses taken within the University of Hawai‘i System do not need to have a transcript sent to HonCC
- Courses taken outside of the University of Hawai‘i System need to be sent directly to the HonCC Records Office to be deemed an official transcript (hand-delivered or faxed transcripts are considered unofficial and will be used for placement purposes only)
Once the transcript evaluation is complete, transferred credits will be available for student’s review via the transcript tab on the STAR Degree Check at STAR. The transfer courses will be posted to the student’s HonCC transcript after completion of coursework at HonCC.
For questions about your transcripts being received you may contact the Records Office by email. For any questions about the status or result of your transcript evaluation you can contact your Academic Counselor.
Request to Forward Previous Transcripts
Students may request that HonCC forward their previous transcripts to another campus within the University of Hawaii System. Please contact the HonCC Records Office for the Transcript Forwarding Request form. Once you submit your completed form to the Records Office, your request will be processed within 45 business days if the previous transcripts are still on file.
Graduation Application Process
Please follow these instructions to apply for your Graduation Certificate or Degree.
- Complete the Application for Graduation/Certificate Form.
- There is a $25 diploma fee for each degree petitioned. Starting Spring 2022, the diploma fee will provide you with one diploma written in English, one diploma written in Hawaiian, an electronic certified copy of your diploma, and a diploma cover.
- Be aware that there are application deadlines in order to be granted your Degree or Certificate in a particular semester. In general, the Fall semester deadline is November 15th and the Spring semester deadline is April 15th.
