Transcript Evaluation
For any previous coursework to be evaluated for transfer to HonCC, the student’s Home Institution must be HonCC and must be in a degree program. The Records Office will forward official transcripts to the appropriate program counselor for evaluation.
- Courses taken within the University of Hawai‘i System do not need to have a transcript sent to HonCC
- Courses taken outside of the University of Hawai‘i System need to be sent directly to the HonCC Records Office to be deemed an official transcript (hand-delivered or faxed transcripts are considered unofficial and will be used for placement purposes only)
Once the transcript evaluation is complete, transferred credits will be available for student’s review via the transcript tab on the STAR Degree Check at STAR. The transfer courses will be posted to the student’s HonCC transcript after completion of coursework at HonCC.
For questions about your transcripts being received you may contact the Records Office by email. For any questions about the status or result of your transcript evaluation you can contact your Academic Counselor.

Electronic Transcripts (eTranscripts)
eTranscripts can be sent to any valid email address in a secure certified PDF format. These transcripts are considered official documents and can be validated as they have been digitally signed and certified by the Records Office.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the recipient accepts electronic PDF transcripts and that the recipient’s email address is entered accurately as there is a charge for each request regardless of whether the email address entered is valid or not. Once ordered, the recipient’s email address cannot be changed. If the request needs to be sent to a different email address, a new order must be placed. Charges for eTranscripts are nonrefundable.
Once the eTranscript has been processed, the student and/or the recipient will have 30 days from the first day the transcript is opened or accessed to view, print, and save the PDF transcript.
Status of Transcript Order: To check on the status of your online transcript order, please visit the National Student Clearinghouse website. Enter your transcript order number and email address.
