Workshops & Programs
HonCC’s Student Success Center and its collaborators will be offering an array of study and life skills workshops designed to help you achieve your academic and career goals. All workshops for the Spring 2024 semester will be via Zoom.
Workshops we offer:
Established in 1995, Po‘i Nā Nalu is HonCC’s oldest Native Hawaiian-serving program. Po‘i Nā Nalu supports the academic and professional goals of our student participants through a variety of services. As the Native Hawaiian Career and Technical Education program, our goal is to prepare Native Hawaiian students for employment in high-skill, high-wage, or in-demand careers in the CTE and STEM sectors of the global economy by providing vigorous and culturally appropriate opportunities for academic and professional success.

- Loan-Out Program (textbooks, laptops, electronics, tools)
- Free Printing
- Paid Internships

Support Services
Trio-Student Support Services (TRIO-SSS) strives to provide a range of academic support, career guidance, transfer planning, and professional development opportunities to qualifying community college students who are first-generation in college, have a financial need, and/or disability and demonstrate strong academic potential. Students receive guided individualized assessment and planning, small group tutoring, mentoring, cultural and educational workshops, club and community service activities.

- Peer coaching
- Early Registration
- Cultural, educational service learning events
- Life and Study Skills Workshops
- Computer use, printing, and use of copy machine
- Textbooks and Laptop loan out
- Laptop, digital recorders, calculator, and camera loan out
The College Achievement and Retention Experience (C.A.R.E.) at HonCC strives to foster an environment of accountability, support, and achievement for all HonCC students. We understand that everyone faces challenges, and everyone needs assistance in meeting them. We offer specialized services and support for skills such as:
- Developing strategies to enhance your study skills
- Connecting you to resources
- Reviewing information related to your academics
Our Peer to Peer Support program also offers guidance from an experienced HonCC Peer Coach. A Peer Coach is someone who can relate to common obstacles that students face and can assist students in navigating college. Let our Peer Coaches be a part of your support team!
